The Spotlight Theatre School of Arts provides the opportunity for all students to achieve personal excellence. Arts education is often neglected, but studying theatre, guitar, piano, dance, and singing can provide many benefits to a well-rounded education. Please call us or send an e-mail for questions or to enroll in a class. If you would like us to call you to let you know when classes you are interested in are coming up, please complete our Potential Student Information Form and mail it, fax it, or attach it to an e-mail back to us. Then we can personally notify you of classes you indicate an interest in.

- Historical Costuming!
This class will include how to costume a show from planning and design through execution. Taught by award winning costume designer Emily Thiroux, members of the class will learn how to research, create a costume plot, design, render, and sew or acquire the costumes for Spotlight Theatre’s spring production of A Song for Vanya. The first class will be Saturday morning, November 4 from 10 AM till noon. The class will meet as needed after that to complete the task of costuming the show. This class is offered by the Spotlight Theatre Foundation without harge as a special project in conjunction with our production of A Song for Vanya. Please reserve your place in the class by calling Spotlight Theatre and School of Arts at 634-0692. Saturday morning, January 20.

Notice that these traits are not specifically arts related. Of course the students will learn to act, sing, and dance, but the growth that occurs through developing all these other traits is also invaluable.
Theater's Prices Fair
"I would like to write something positive about Bakersfield--about my experience at Spotlight Theatre. They provide good shows and classes for children. Providing scholarships for Spotlight Theatre School of Arts is one of the primary missions of the Spotlight Theatre Foundation. Scholarship applications are reviewed and scholarships awarded once a month.
